The Nether­lands Poloshirt 2011 from the Spe­cial Gaas­tra Coun­try Edition

The 180 miles dis­tance North Sea Race 2011 between Har­wich and Schevin­gen will take place on the 4^th of june 2011. Organ­ised by the Royal Ocean Rac­ing Club (www.rorc.org) in asso­ci­a­tion with the Royal Har­wich Club, the East Anglian Off­shore Rac­ing Asso­ci­a­tion and the Yacht Club Schevenin­gen, this tra­di­tional sail­ing event is known for its com­pet­i­tive spirit. For all friends of real sail­ing races, Gaas­tra pays trib­ute to the Dutch North Sea Race with an own Lim­ited Gaas­tra  Coun­try Poloshirt Edi­tion, that can be ordered eas­ily within a dis­tance of just some clicks in the Offi­cial Gaas­tra Online Shop!

The Lim­ited Gaas­tra Poloshirts from the Coun­try Col­lec­tion have a sporty high-value design from piqué and cot­ton and impress with many eye­catch­ers: Indi­vid­ual Regatta print­ings at front and back,  fash­ion­able but­tons and a spe­cial stand-up col­lar designed in spe­cific national flag colours.

Gaas­tra has become the offi­cial part­ner for the Voiles de Saint-Barth, the sec­ond edi­tion of which is due to take place between the fourth and ninth of April 2011. Used to being involved in pres­ti­gious nau­ti­cal events, Gaas­tra has joined the organ­is­ers and other part­ners with the inten­tion of stay­ing along­side in the long term and becom­ing asso­ci­ated with the rep­u­ta­tion of the event by devel­op­ing a prod­uct range, which will be dis­trib­uted around the world.

“Les Voiles de Saint Barth won us over with its first edi­tion that we watched closely from the out­side”, explained Emmanuel Galle, Gen­eral Direc­tor of Gaas­tra France. “This major sail­ing event is aimed at the world’s finest rac­ing, Maxi and Clas­sic yachts. This pres­ti­gious yacht­ing cor­re­sponds to the image of our brand Gaas­tra.” Used to sport­ing part­ner­ships par­tic­u­larly in the world of yacht­ing (Voiles de Saint-Tropez, Copa del Rey,…), Gaas­tra will be pre­sent­ing the brand new “Voiles de Saint Barth” range in early 2011.
This full range of sports­wear brings together the com­pet­i­tive spirit of the race with the year’s fash­ion trends and colours. Gaas­tra is closely linked with the inter­na­tional world of sail­ing. This rep­u­ta­tion is based around the fact that we suc­cess­fully bring together prac­ti­cal wear and fash­ion, which is per­fectly expressed in the Gaas­tra Pro and Gaas­tra Sports­wear col­lec­tions. Gaas­tra offers men, women and chil­dren a full range of clothes, footwear and acces­sories.

Gaas­tra will present a spe­cial lim­ited edi­tion for “the Voiles de Saint-Barth” which will be at the Gaas­tra E-Store in March 2011!

Today one of the favorite yacht­ing events starts like every year. From 26th of Sep­tem­ber to 3rd of Octo­ber 2010, Saint-Tropez is host­ing the inter­na­tional well known Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez sail­ing event. Peo­ple from all over the world visit this event to watch the most beau­ti­ful sail­ing yachts world­wide and they wit­ness the spec­tac­u­lar chal­leng­ing regat­tas. No other sail­ing event is as steeped in pure nau­ti­cal pas­sion as Les Voiles de St. Tropez. Each year, in its role as a proud spon­sor, Gaas­tra pays homage to this unique race with a bril­liant spe­cial edi­tion lim­ited col­lec­tion of beau­ti­ful cloth­ing.

A spe­cial part of this col­lec­tion is the lim­ited Gaas­tra Hull Saint-Tropez Polo (just 200 pieces for each coun­try). Every Polo is unique because of the non­re­cur­ring numer­i­cal code at the back­side, under its col­lar. The Gaas­tra Hull Saint-Tropez Polo is made of suit­able cot­ton piqué with nice hand­made prints and embroi­dery and will be sent to you in a nice, high-quality carton.

Last week-end (19–22 August) it was invited through a jour­ney of time in Laboe — the Ger­man Clas­sics 2010. Over 150 clas­sic yachts were expected in the har­bor of Laboe. The vis­i­tors had the oppor­tu­nity to see impres­sive old sail­ing boats in a mar­itime atmos­phere.
Short races on Fri­day and the tra­di­tional long dis­tance race on Sat­ur­day pro­vided a sportive frame, culi­nary delights teased the palate and mar­itime art from the view point of mod­ern artists fas­ci­nated the eye. A vari­ety of live music on the fes­tiv­ity grounds made sure that every­one was get­ting into a good mood. Fur­ther­more Gaas­tra was one of the main spon­sors for the event Ger­man Clas­sics 2010.

Today one of the largest mar­itime man­i­fes­ta­tions in the world begins. Till August 23rd 2010 the 8th edi­tion of SAIL Ams­ter­dam will take place. In 1975 the first edi­tion of SAIL was held to cel­e­brate the 700^th anniver­sary of Ams­ter­dam. The event was a great suc­cess, result­ing in the sec­ond SAIL event in 1980. Over the years SAIL Ams­ter­dam has become the largest, freely acces­si­ble pub­lic event in the Nether­lands. Dur­ing the SAIL event impres­sive fleets will be present in the IJ (the river which runs through Ams­ter­dam), such as tall ships, mar­itime her­itage, mod­ern ships and repli­cas. Dur­ing these five days there is plenty to do with a chang­ing pro­gram of cul­ture and sport­ing activ­i­ties. The theme of SAIL 2010 will be: a nau­ti­cal encounter between past, present and future.
